With Polyurethane or TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is indicated a wide family of polymers whose polymeric chain is composed by urethane links – NH-(CO)-O.
In 1942, William Hanford and Donald Holmes from Du Pont de Nemours & Company, patented the first industrial process for the TPU production.
Polyurethanes are used in the manufacture of flexible, high-resilience foam seating, rigid foam insulation panels, microcellular foam seals and gaskets, elastomeric wheels and tires, automotive suspension bushings, electrical potting compounds, high performance adhesives, surface coatings and surface sealants, synthetic fibers, carpet underlay; hard-plastic parts.
Filtec in TPU production and pelletizing.
Today the TPU production represents one of the market with a rapid expansion, thanks to the versatility of the polymer.
In fields like the TPU production for medical use, shoe factory or other applications for each producer it is basic to supply pellets of the best quality for the good result on the final product.
The Filtec pelletizing systems for TPU are designed on the customer’s requests warranting a final product of good quality. Filtec have in fact the experience and competence for assisting new or confirmed TPU producers in the production of such a versatile material.
Many TPU producers have already understood that the pellets produced thanks to the Filtec equipment supply to the end user products with a very high quality.
